I have not seen or known about this, though I must have passed closed by a hundred of times.

It's a bit hidden indeed; you can easily find it in front of Paris-Moskau restaurant, you can see the roof of it on the background of the drawing.
There were also two lions next to the stairs which were moved to the entrance of Neues museum.
