Kurfürstendamm, Berlin

I have arrived in Berlin! I am here for 3 months to get inspired by the art and culture here. But I brought work along, it’s not just an endless holiday, although it almost feels like it.

The Kurfürstendamm, also called Ku’Damm by Berliners, was the centre of former West Berlin, and still is one of the major centres of the new Berlin. It’s a high-end shopping street stretching for many blocks, lined by well-preserved old buildings.

I stood in the median near a U-Bahn stop to sketch this, so I had a railing to lean against. I picked the spot in a bit of a rush, because I just wanted to do a quick sketch.
